The aim of these pages is to give information about the new Beer-In-Box concept. The information is directed in equal measure at the food and drink industry, beverage retailers and breweries.

The vision:
It started with the idea of developing a cost-effective disposable system for the keg and barrel market.

The problem:
Stainless steel barrels (kegs) were necessary because of the carbon dioxide (CO₂) in beer. The higher the temperature, the higher the internal pressure in the barrel.

The solution

• Before filling the beer the CO₂ is reduced from approx. 5.5 g/l to 1 g/l.
• The flat beer is dispensed into Bag-In-Box disposable packaging. There is no more pressure in the packaging, even at high temperatures of up to 80°C.
• When tapping into the dispensing equipment, the beer is re-aerated with CO₂ with the newly developed Anker Carbonator.

This system creates an economically effective distribution chain from bagging to consumer.
